I have worked with hundreds if not thousands of individuals throughout my career and one fundamental factor is being honest with people.
I’m fortunate to have met and taught some very relentless clients who will simply keep going until their targets obtainable.
Whilst I have had many scenario’s of success, there is the opposite end of the spectrum of people who I haven’t been able to help.
For many who embark on a journey for a new body or health levels, it’s a huge mental barrier that often gets in the way and forces them to retreat.
This is where honesty plays its role, sometimes no matter how much you want to help someone you can only lead them, you cannot make them.
Sitting down and advising a client that either it’s going to take a lot longer than predicted, it’s maybe not the right time for them or that the gym’s not the ideal direction for that individual isn’t easy to do.
However, rather than pulling the wool over someone’s eyes and feeding them bullshit just to keep yourself in pocket, it’s a lot more plausible course of action in my opinion to be honest.
